Augusta Road

On a tight lot, sometimes the smartest move is up instead of out. This home off Augusta Road was once a two-bed, one-bath bungalow, but the new owners needed much more space. After we brought the existing home down to studs, we added a new kitchen, opened up the central staircase, and built a new master suite. A generous screened-in porch provides multi-use space just off the kitchen into the back yard.

Above, we removed the original roof and added a full second story with three bedrooms, two additional bathrooms, a cozy office, and a spacious den. The result: significantly more living space without sacrificing additional yard or charm.
