Modern Retreat: Cleveland Forest

A master suite addition and kitchen renovation transformed this cozy cottage into an empty-nester paradise with a modern flair. The first phase of this renovation added a striking master suite that balances modern design with the original cottage charm. The “wall of windows” bring the outdoors in and floods the space with natural light. The suite features a dramatic 20-foot vaulted post-and-beam ceiling, hand-crafted tile, and a spa-style bathroom retreat.

We expanded the limited cottage kitchen by removing one of the guest bedrooms in the original space. In the updated floorplan, we married the new and old parts of the house with a stunning hardscaped patio of flagstone and slate.
